Tapestry welcome reception at Union Station Hotel in Nashville
Everybody is on board in Nashville for Tapestry Conference #tapestryconf

Around 100 people met tonight in the lobby of Union Station Hotel in Nashville to warm up around beers and appetizers for the first conference about data storytelling.
In this old time style hotel, people will tomorrow define and discuss the present and the future of storytelling around data.

Attendees come from different countries, different perspectives. We have designers, journalists, IT guys, storytellers, etc. That’s not a typical IT conference! People are younger, no ties at all, a great mix of man and women, and even one young mother came with her baby, surely the youngest data storyteller on earth!

That’s not our conference. We just underline it.”, explain Elissa Fink, Chief Marketing Officer at Tableau Software, main sponsor of the conference. But, everybody agrees that to tell great stories around data, you need tools. And neither actual storytelling tools nor actual data visualization tools are yet combined to provide a real dynamic, multimedia and interactive data storytelling solution... That will surely be one of the conference’s main subjects.

As Michael Maupin told tonight on twitter: “Numbers people. Word people. Why can't we all just get along?”.

Of course, all attendees are tweeting! If you want to get the list of all attendees with their twitter account, go to: https://twitter.com/acotgreave/tapestry-attendees/members

And if you want to follow the discussion and ask questions, use the #tapestryconf hashtag on twitter.

Thanks Philippe.
Now you've got us salivating, can you tell us poor mortals not able to attend where we can go for a summary of the exchanges?
